Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Nina Taylor MP, the Parliamentary Secretary for Education, to our alternative school.
A group of our Youth2Voice (student council) members had the honour of leading Nina on a tour around the campus alongside the Principal. These students, who play an integral role in representing their peers and shaping the school, shared their personal experiences and insights gained from their time at Youth2Industry College. Their stories highlighted the impact our alternative education model has had on their academic and personal development. Emphasizing the number of supports they have here and the nurturing learning environment that sets our school apart.
One of the highlights of the visit was a special presentation by a VCE-VM 3&4 student, who showcased his ideas and designs for our new school mural. Rae’s passion and artistic vision were evident, and Nina Taylor’s genuine interest and encouragement were greatly appreciated. Combining local history and inspiration from peers, the whole school is excited to see the final reveal.
