Youth2Industry College recently held its first-ever fundraiser, a Silent Auction!
The aim of the Silent Auction was to raise essential funds for future capital purchases, various engagement and wellbeing programs, and curriculum initiatives. Therefore, enhancing our students’ educational experience and opportunities. The night featured delicious food, a brilliant DJ, amazing auction items and was a wonderful opportunity for our community to connect.
The auction included items such as a weekend away, a salon transformation package, tickets to events, signed merchandise, and more. Alongside this was a raffle packed full of brilliant prizes.
We are thrilled to announce that the event raised a total of $6,497!
These events are incredibly important to the school. As an alternative school who doesn’t charge fees, to ensure that education is accessible to all, it primarily rely on government funding. The school has great plans for how to continue to holistically enhance every student’s educational journey. Here are a few ways in which the money raised will make a difference:
- Provide additional funds for future capital purchases
- Provide new resources and materials for our classrooms, breakout spaces and wellbeing room
- Fund enrichment activities, excursions and incursions
- Enhance our engagement activities
- Fund our Breakfast and Lunch Program
The event wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing donors, who include community members, Victorian Racing Club, Melbourne Cricket Club, Tim Minchin, Melbourne United, Melbourne Coin & Collectable Co., Verve Portraits, Global Ballooning, Blondye Hair Extensions, Masterchef’s Emelia Jackson, Draw My Home, Carla Lawson Hair Extensions, Puffing Billy Railway and Burgess Rawson.
Thank you to everyone who attended our Silent Auction. We are so grateful to have such a wonderful community, who support not only the school and their young people, but everyone enrolled at Y2IC.
